Research Proposals are invited to conduct Research Studies on Eco-Restoration of Adyar Creek under Monitoring and Evaluation
Adyar Eco-Park is basically an eco-restoration project to restore the degraded Adyar Creek. To assess the restoration progress, continuous ecological monitoring is very essential. Pre-project implementation, baseline data have been collected on major group of animals & plants and subsequently to monitor the impact of project implementation. The restoration programme was completed in 2010 and research studies were undertaken through various local institutions regarding water and soil quality, vertebrates and invertebrates in 2012 and 2013. To record the restoration success further in the Adyar Creek, research studies has to be undertaken as it will take a long time to achieve a considerable level of restoration. Research Proposals are invited from Institutions, reputed NGOs and others to carry out the following research studies to monitor the Post-restoration of Adyar Creek on or before 23rd January, 2017.
  1. To assess the quality of water and soil.
  2. To monitor the diversity and density of terrestrial and aquatic vertebrates.
  3. To monitor the diversity and density of terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates.
  4. To undertake floristic studies to ascertain the diversity and phenology characteristic of plants in Creek.
